Commercial operations at the Jhiri biogas plant are likely to commence soon. GAIL (India) Limited has set the plant on eight hectares of land in Jhiri, Ranchi. It will have the capacity to process 150 tonnes per day (tpd) wet waste for conversion into 5,000 kg per day compressed biogas (CBG along with production of 25 tpd organic fertiliser. Besides, Ranchi Municipal Corporation will supply wet waste for the plant.
